APPALLING! 400 Police Force Deployed For Manchester Derby As Police Fear Mourinho Guardiola Derby
Manchester United will welcome Manchester City this weekend, but to Manchester Police chiefs in UK, it is not just a normal game, as 400 police would be deployed to Old Trafford after hearing of the bitter feud between Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
The police are expected to be on duty for the 12:30pm kick-off and would be briefed of the fued which dates back to their rivalry days while managing Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
The Saturday match commander, Chief Inspector Dean Howard, from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) , said:
"This is arguably the biggest game of the season so far and no doubt will have the eyes of the world watching. We have a lot of policing high-profile fixtures such as this and we work closely with officials and fan groups from both clubs. The vast majority of supporter are law-abiding members of the public and we hope all those in attendance would enjoy the game in a competitive but safe atmosphere, allowing Manchester to once again showcase its football".
Mourinho and Pep were once closed friends and colleagues while they worked at Barcelona under Louis Van Gaal.
